Web Tools Runs in your browser
What is a domain extractor?
A domain extractor reads URLs, emails and plain text and pulls out the domain (host) of each, such as example.com or test.co.uk, listing them de-duplicated and lowercased. Snabbit strips schemes, paths and email user names to leave just the hostname, and runs in your browser so your input stays private.
How to use the Domain Extractor
- 1 Paste URLs, emails or text into the input box.
- 2 The domain of each is extracted instantly, one per line.
- 3 Schemes, paths and email names are stripped, leaving the host.
- 4 Copy the de-duplicated list of domains.
What you can use it for
- Listing the domains referenced across a document.
- Turning a column of URLs into their host names.
- Extracting the domain from a batch of email addresses.
- Auditing which sites a page links out to.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on bare domains without http?
Yes. As well as URLs and email addresses, it recognises bare host names like example.org written directly in the text.
Are subdomains kept?
Yes. The full host is returned, so www.shop.example.com is kept as-is rather than being reduced to the root domain.
Why are the domains lowercased?
Host names are case-insensitive, so the tool lowercases them. This also makes de-duplication reliable, since Example.com and example.com become one entry.
